Henge Hopper – the best way to see the World Heritage Site!
The Henge Hopper is a hop-on, hop-off service linking Stonehenge, Avebury and the nationally important Wiltshire Heritage Museum in Devizes.
The service has now ceased running for the 2011 season. Please get in touch if you have a group, as we may be able to run a bespoke service for you.
To get in touch, then please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The initial pilot service will ran on weekends and Bank Holidays until September 11 2011. The service used minibuses owned by local community groups, and is run by the Wiltshire Heritage Museum – a registered charity. When you use the service, you will become a special ‘Henge Hopper’ member – giving you free entrance to the Museum.
You can complete your journey over two days, so you can explore the Wiltshire landscape at your own pace. You can walk in the rolling downland landscape, find a great place to have lunch, or stay in a country pub or farmhouse B&B.
The service links with buses, coaches and trains, so visitors can use the bus to explore the Wiltshire countryside and leave the car behind or make a special trip from London. We can drop you off or pick you up from hotels or B&Bs near the route.
Leave the car behind!
Using the bus means that you don’t have to pay car parking fees. A special discount at Stonehenge, combined with free entry to Wiltshire Heritage Museum, means that it is cheaper to hop on the Henge Hopper than using a car! It’s greener too!
We can also provide free parking on the outskirts of Devizes . Contact us for details.
